Your Baby Can Travel (and it’s easier than you think!)

It’s been a while since I’ve written a post but for good reason: I wrote a book! Well, I’ve actually been working on this book for about a year and finally had the time and energy to finish it. I am so excited to share Your Baby Can Travel with everyone and I can’t wait to hear what people think.

About me

Allow me to start with a brief re-introduction. My name is Ashley and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and two babies. As you might find evident from this blog, I love to travel, especially with my little ones. When my husband and I decided to start a family, I never thought for a second that we would stop seeing the world. My research into how to travel with a baby only reaffirmed my desire to keep exploring. Once my son was born and we actually started to put theory to practice, I began to feel this need to share this life and possibility with other parents and families as if to say, “Hey! Look at us! Your baby can travel too!”. That is how From My World and Your Baby Can Travel were born.

Me and my then 5-month old son on his first international trip.

Your Baby Can Travel

I learned that my passion lies in inspiring and encouraging families to travel with their little ones.

I just hate how much we, as parents, are discouraged from traveling anymore once we have babies. There are always a million reasons not to do this or that and the same can be said for family travel. But something about being told that I better get “it” out of my system now (before baby) brought out the rebel in me and I refused to be discouraged. And for over 2 years, I’ve spent time spreading that message to whoever would listen.

As friends started to think about babies, I noticed that they would look at us and say that they wished they could do what we do. Which always puzzled me because they could do exactly what I was doing, all they had to do was plan. And then strangers would say the same thing, and I cheered those parents on too. This book is the culmination of all of my best advice.

What is in the book?

I enjoy writing this blog and interacting with people on social media about family travel so much that I decided to write it all down and give it to the world. Your Baby Can Travel is a way of concentrating all of what I know into a hundred or so pages with the goal of inspiring your next family vacation. It has been designed to be both practical and informational with the following chapters and bonus items:

  • Chapter 1: Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
  • Chapter 2: Domestic and International Travel
  • Chapter 3: What to Pack
  • Chapter 4: Saving for Vacation
  • Chapter 5: How to Enjoy Your Family Vacation
  • Bonus Chapter: Find Your People
  • Appendix
    • Tips for Saving to Travel
    • Packing List
    • Carry-On Essentials
    • Baby Gear Preference Sheet
    • Points and Miles Starter Guide

I wrote the book I needed when I was researching how to make my dream of family travel a reality. When I wasn’t sure how I was actually going to make this work, these are some of the items I scoured the internet for. Now you don’t have to 🙂

Who is this book for?

I wrote this book for every parent who feels intimidated or unsure about how they can travel and explore with their baby. Whether it is the first time or the one hundredth, your baby can travel and, trust me, it is easier than you think.

People commonly ask some of the following questions that are answered inside of the book include: How do I afford a family vacation? What do I really need to pack for my trip and what can I leave behind? Where should I go for my first family vacation? How do I actually enjoy a vacation with a baby? What are the big differences to consider between domestic and international travel?

I’ve even traveled throughout my pregnancy with my daughter. Here I am 8 months pregnant at the Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. More on traveling while pregnant in this post.

Traveling with a baby is different, not impossible. And I am by no means telling you to take your baby on every trip or vacation. But if you truly desire to travel with your baby, or don’t want to be held back from experiencing life on your own terms (i.e. seeing the world) just because you’ve chosen to become a parent, this book is for you.

How can I get this book?
